My fancy dress past...

With Halloween on Saturday I thought I'd share with you some of my previous fancy dress outfits. When I have time I love to use my design skills and go as objects...here's a selection - all made by me!

The coke can was for a 'C' themed party, the jiffy bag for a 'J' themed party and the Game Boy (this was David's outfit but courtesy of me) was for a 'everything but now' themed party (I went as a flapper - BORING!!)

Alas, I'm going to be boring again on Saturday and will be stuffing some old tights and becoming a spider...I simply haven't the time!

Christmas Houses

I love to work on a Christmas house themed design, I'm working on one today but here's one from a few months ago...

This is a section from a little Christmas village on a hill design. It's making me look forward to Christmas even more...making the house Christmassy is the BEST bit!

Colourful Christmas

Seeing as the shops are full of Christmas everything and Christmas adverts are being shown on the telly I don't feel quite so out of place posting Christmas designs. Here's a couple of sections of a pop up card I've been working on today. It's time to feel festive! Oh I do love Christmas...which helps in this job!

more dad style

I finished off my dad/male themed day yesterday with these designs. I'm really pleased with the colours of these - it's nice to do mans stuff for a change!

How I work

It's not like me to post twice in one day but just really liked how this looked! When I'm working on a repeat pattern my computer usually runs frustratingly slow as I've got things copied and pasted all over the shop! I'm ashamed to admit that it's only just occurred to me to strip the the duplicated work of all it's colour and pattern swatches to make life much easier for myself! I LOVE how it looks, I wish I could leave it like that but somehow I don't think the customers would like it!

work in progress

Am having a productive week so far, I'm working under the threat of a nasty cold but have been battling through - have far to much to do to be ill! Have been working on different themes this week than I usually do (not Christmas!) this is a little snippet of a mothers day themed design I'm working on.

Tigerprint competition entry

Yesterday I entered this months Tigerprint competition. I revamped some existing designs I thought fitted the brief quite nicely (you may have seen them on here before!) Here are my entries...

I heart IKEA!

It may not be the coolest thing to admit but I absolutely love IKEA. Who cares if everyone's got the same sofa?! Although I do like to fill our house with vintage bits of pieces and the odd bit of vintage/retro/second hand furniture to stop me feeling like I have to walk around the house in a certain way and only eat meatballs for dinner (and a quick hot dog on the way out!)

Anyway, I was browsing the IKEA website the other night and came across these new ANNAMOA fabrics...oh my!

Now I'm desperately trying to think of where I can fit this fabric into the house...I already have loads of cushions made from this fabric range. Oh IKEA you really are spoiling us!

a friendly new home

My lovely (and extremely talented) friend Ria has recently moved house. Here's a quick little card I did for her. The street she lives on has A LOT of flowers...hanging baskets, window boxes, tubs, everywhere! Her house now has giant flowers growing all around...putting the neighbours to shame! That's the vision anyway!

my new plate

My parents were having a cupboard clear out at the weekend and now I'm the very proud owner of this beautiful plate! I don't know anything about it except I LOVE it!! I'm aiming to have a plate wall so once I've acquired a few more I'll be adding them to my Homemaker plates display.

one colour details..

I've been working on a one colour set recently. It's actually taking far longer than I imagined, I suppose the lack of colour means it's important to make up for it in the detail...here's a few details....it's all in the detail! Detail, detail, detail.

work in progress - christmas

Happy Friday everyone! Am working on a new Christmas set today, have been having a terrible week work wise...working on the same design all week and getting no where with it! Don't know what's wrong with me, decided to put it aside for a bit and concentrate on something else. Am feeling much better already, sometimes you need to know when to stop! Have a great weekend everyone - I'll be off to the fair!
