Surtex is upon us! I've been a very busy bee of late creating lots of lovely new work for my agent to take (and hopefully sell!) with him. My work can been seen at the Inspire by Design stand (booth no. 324, 326). along withthesewonderfulpeople. Here's a little look at what you can expect from me this year...
I've just had a lovely homely weekend doing a bit of gardening (hacking away at anything that got in my way!) and baking. I over ordered on bananas in last weeks online shop and so had a nice excuse to use a few up by baking banana and cinnamon muffins from The Hummingbird Bakerycook book. They were rather nice, if I do say so myself!
It would be such a shame to post some incredibly Christmassy designs when we're having such wonderful weather...so I won't! These new ones are a nice compromise I think...pretend the blue background is the spring sky or something!
My friend Jem tweeted me yesterday with a link to a brilliant blog The Dairi Burger If you ever read SVH books when you were younger and now realise just how hilarious they actually were, you will love it.
I'm worried I won't be getting much work done as I trawl through the archives and read it all!
Hearing about this blog reminded me of a quick project I did at uni where I redesigned a SVH book jacket...very embarrassing now but here's my take on Elizabeth and Jessica.
Jessica is the one with the hoop earrings because she was so much cooler! Hahahah!
Apologies for the lack on posts lately. Here's some more new baby designs from a couple of weeks ago.
I'm finding it hard to post while the weather is being quite cheerful (excluding today) as I'm mainly working on new Christmas designs and no one wants to see snow and Santa at this time of the year! I've also been spending a little bit of time wedding planning and designing our invites, which I'd love to share with you but will wait until they've been sent out - I fear I am becoming a bride that talks too much and the last thing I want to be is a bore!
As we're soon approaching the 6 month countdown to our wedding I've been spending a bit of time planning, designing and making. Here's a little sneak peak of the fabrics we're* using in the decorations...
Finally we've startedto see a little bit of sunshine and the heating doesn't have to be on quite as much (if at all) Hurrah! Spring is here! Here's a couple of positively spring like designs I did last week. Feels good to have a break from Santa and the snowflakes that come with him!
I feel like I've been so busy the past couple of weeks but with no new work to post! Am looking forward to spending some time creating next week. In the meantime I want to share the wonderful work of my lovely friend Ruth from The Miniature Knit Shop Ruth designs and knits the most fantastic little outfits for babies - they always make me smile and I always look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.
Ruth's going to be exhibiting at SOCK at Loughborough Town Hall on March 27th and 28th. If you're in the area, make sure you go and say hello!
And check out the strawberry outfit - it's my favourite!
I've just come back from a lovely weekend visiting my friend Amy in the glorious Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire. Amy is one third of the very lovely, very crafty Tozie & Teal. They have a terrific work space/shop smack bang in Hebden Bridge in the Bridge Mill on St George's Square. I loved it! I thought I'd share some of the crafty wares they make and sell seeing as I was completely smitten with it all...
Do go and visit if you ever find yourself in the area, it's worth climbing the stairs for!
